Manhattan is such a fun little city to live in. It's about the size of Provo, UT (minus surrounding cities for an hour each direction) and you can get anywhere in town in 10 minutes or less. We have all the big stores- Walmart, Target, Dillon's (aka Smith's or Kroger), BBB, Dick's, you name it. And we have all the big restaurants- Chili's, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, Chipotle, etc. We're only missing Cafe Rio and Five Guys, really. If we had a big airport, LDS Temple, and Babies R Us, this town would have everything we need!
One of our biggest concerns with moving here, was making new friends and building up our support group from ground zero. Luckily, Manhattan is a hidden gem, filled with the nicest people in the world. We have made SO many friends here from Cameron's MFT program and our local ward, or church congregation. Everyone has made us feel so welcome and we feel like we fit right in.
I've been attending our ward playgroup and book club since we got here. We have been invited over for dinner by different families so many times (and have tried to return the favor... we're working on that :)). Cameron is building tons of relationships within his program and feels a really good connection with his colleagues here.
We're looking forward to a fun-filled (with a tad of work here and there) 3 years in the little Big Apple!
